Jammu and Kashmir: Encounter breaks out between security forces and terrorists in Shopian, operation underway


Shopian: A fierce encounter has broken out between security forces and terrorists in Dragad Sugan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning. The joint operation by police and army began after the terrorists opened fire when the forces were conducting a search operation. 
One terrorist has been neutralised in the encounter and the operation is underway. Reports of stone pelting also emerged while security forces where conducting a combing extercise in the area.
The encounter comes two days after another incident in Kulgam where terrorists opened fire when a joint operation by police and army was underway. The Kulgam encounter was reported from South Kashmir’s Tazipura village and involved terrorists belonging to the Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba, Times Now reported.

Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi to attend Modi’s swearing-in ceremony tomorrow
